Position Summary:

Join our vibrant team as a Special Education Teacher/Teacher of Students with Disabilities! Under the caring guidance of the school principal, you'll craft enriching learning experiences for students with disabilities across various educational settings. Your role is pivotal in creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student can thrive, blending specialized instruction with the general education curriculum to ensure their fullest growth and development.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop engaging lesson plans tailored to individual IEP needs, goals, and objectives.
  • Establish a structured routine maximizing learning time for all students.
  • Cultivate an inviting and supportive learning atmosphere conducive to student success.
  • Provide comprehensive training to classroom assistants, empowering them to deliver one-to-one instruction effectively.
  • Employ diverse curricula, materials, and behavioral strategies tailored to student needs.
  • Maintain accurate and timely paperwork, upholding professional standards.
  • Collaborate in annual reviews, contributing pertinent goals and objectives to IEP plans.
  • Participate eagerly in directed training, supervision sessions, and staff meetings to foster growth and alignment.
  • Submit timesheets promptly and accurately in adherence to company policy.
  • Uphold company policies and procedures with enthusiasm and diligence.
  • Embrace additional duties as assigned with a positive and proactive attitude.

  • Environment: Immerse yourself in a dynamic classroom setting enriched by therapy rooms, playgrounds, and various learning spaces across the school. Embrace occasional field trips that broaden students' horizons.
  • Essential Physical Demands and Cognitive Skills: Engage in physical activities, including walking, sitting, standing, bending, and supporting students, fostering an environment where every child feels supported and valued.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Higher in Special Education or Early Childhood Education.
  • Possession of New Jersey Teacher of the Handicapped or Teacher of Students with Disabilities Certification.
  • A minimum of two years' teaching experience with young children, reflecting your dedication to shaping young minds.
  • Fluency in English, with strong interpersonal skills nurturing relationships with children, parents, and guardians.
  • Deep understanding of child development, behavior modification techniques, and common behavioral disorders.
  • Exemplary professionalism and a positive attitude, enhancing the school community.
  • Physical mobility to meet the demands of the position and assist in emergency situations.
